·
“Action” buttons perform the functions corresponding the same
CRM toolbar buttons. The
difference is that the CRM toolbar buttons function for the
CRM “Active Contact” and these Extensions “Action” buttons function
for the CRM Contact the form is linked to (independent of the
CRM “Active Contact”).
For example:
1)
When the “Journal” button is clicked on a Contact form the Journal
will be for that Contact
2)
When the “Journal” button is clicked on the “CRM Functions” tab of a
Task form the Journal will be for the Contact the Task is linked to.
1)
When these buttons are clicked on an Opportunity or Project form the
item that is created will be linked to both the Opportunity / Project as
well as the Contact & Company that the Opportunity / Project is linked
to. View these links using the Opportunity and Project “Data
Views” tab or using the CRM Project Manager window.
·
“Action” buttons are included on each of the CRM Extensions
forms.
·
Conveniently located for quick access on the main page on Contact
and Company forms
·
Located on the “CRM Functions” tab for all “child” form (Journal,
Task, Appointment, Opportunity and
Projects)
·
Located on the Extensions
“CRM” menu so that these functions may be performed for any
highlighted Email or CRM item.
Just highlight one (or more) Emails in your Inbox and select the
menu for CRM / Custom Action / Journal and each of the highlighted
Email messages will be Journaled to the appropriate CRM Contact
(based on Sender Email address).
·
Each of these items that are created with these buttons may be
viewed on the “Data Views” tab
of the associated Extensions Contact form (quick reference to any item).
·
The intent of providing these buttons on the CRM menu and
each of the Extensions forms is to provide the user with “one click” access
to each of these functions from wherever they are working in Outlook
(providing speed and convenience).
·
Options for these buttons are controlled through the various basic
CRM Options Manager tabs.
